Hi, I’m Emily Balestra, a Licensed Professional Counselor working with students and university alumni and staff. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or OCD, you don’t have to face it alone. I offer a supportive, practical space to help you better understand your thoughts and feelings, and develop tools to live with more balance and clarity.
I specialize in helping college and graduate students managing academic stress, identity questions, anxiety, and depression. I also work with university staff and faculty experiencing burnout and work-life challenges. My focus includes anxiety disorders, depression, and OCD, with a commitment to supporting young adults through major life transitions.
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Prevention Therapy (ERPT), Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), and Mindfulness, I help clients shift unhelpful thinking, increase psychological flexibility, and build skills to manage distress. Together, we’ll work toward reducing symptoms and enhancing your connection to what matters most.
Our sessions are collaborative and tailored to your needs. Whether you want skills-based support or deeper exploration, I provide a warm, nonjudgmental environment to help you move forward. Many clients appreciate my authenticity and my compassionate style.
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit. I provide in-person and telehealth appointments. Ready to begin? Click “Contact Me” to get started.
